True confession: when my own children were small — way, way back in the early 2000s and long before social media was a thing — I was addicted to Martha Stewart Living (with the older kid) and America’s Next Top Model (with the younger). I set the VCR
I used to watch Dr Oz on one of my maternity leaves, and then one day he had three models and put scotch tape on their faces to "analyze" their ages from the tissue fragments when they removed the tape and the models were talking about confusing the skin's ageing process by switching moisturizer daily or using olive oil and it was all such BS I think I lost all respect and stopped watching immediately.
I recently stumbled upon Mormon Respiratory Therapist Instagram and it's a trip - healthcare memes and multilevel marketing.
I was super into Martha Stewart around that same time. Since then I've been through a number of influencers, gurus, etc., and have gotten a little fed up with the cults of personality that arise around influencers. These days, I'm more into learning what I can from people (whether they're influencers or not), but trying not to get sucked in. Also, having lived in Utah for a while as a gentile, I have some thoughts about the Mormon influencer thing...

Tell me more about Mormon Respiratory Therapist Instagram. It sounds like a weird pocket of IG and an absolute delight.
Lots of MLM makeup sales, respiratory therapists in full makeup under their masks, photos of kids and ?fishing?
