Before the list, a note for the knitters:
I will knit some mittens. This is my opportunity to learn to knit thumbs for actual human hands.
This is the best reason to learn how to knit mittens! I want in!
Awesome! I am in!
I can make some mittens—I have a couple of [largeish] boxes of wool yarn, just waiting to be something useful.
Also—I usually make hats, and have yet another box of them (a couple dozen, maybe). If they would be welcome, LMK and I'll send them too.
Send 'em on! Mittens and hats. As long as they are an animal fiber, we can make it work.
All 100% wool.
Awesome. Fling 'em in a box and get them to the P.O. sometime before September.
I could knit some mittens. Is the address at the bottom of the page the place to send them or is there another address?
I'm not seeing what you're seeing but if the address involves 41 Cedar, it is the correct address. :)
Is something like 80% wool/20% polyamide ok, or do they need to be 100% wool etc?
They need to be 100% wool or alpaca or llama or any other fluff having animal you can name. It's a long story -- open fires are involved when you are house-less because yours is now rubble -- but, in short, animal fibers don't melt.
