I don’t know that I have hoarder tendencies anywhere else in my life but I do love to store links to interesting thing, much like a squirrel gathering nuts for the winter.
So, um. Some nuts:
I have good news and bad news: The bad news is that we just keep doing the same stupid shit over and over again.1 The good news is that we know who to get ourselves out of it. If we want to, anyway.

It really is astounding how many echoes there are between the early McCarthy era and now. It’s just astonishing.
TL; DR: if you have a brain that likes a narrative arc, life can be very disappointing. Also: I am in this picture and don’t like it.
Do I still want to move to Iceland, even with the lava? YES. YES I DO.
Also: it’s fun to watch the auto-generated captions try to deal with the accents.
